"Supporting the Community that Supports us"
"Supporting the Community that Supports us" is all about giving back to our customers by supporting local clubs, schools and individuals. North Jacklin has been supporting events and fund raisers in the Mackay community since 1961 and are proud to say that we will be continuing our support for many years to come!
Take a look at a few pictures from some of this years sponsorships.
North Jacklin Golf week at the Mackay Golf Club
Every year North Jacklin sponsors a week of golf and this year was no exception!
Central Queensland Blokart Club
Led by local Blokart enthusiast David Moore, the Central Queensland Blokart club has been partaking in regatta's all year! Below are some pictures of the race in Yeppon in March 2009. As well as sponsoring the club, North Jacklin also sponsored the National regatta held at Cape Hillsborough in September 2009.
Mackay Basketball
We are keen basketball fans here at North Jacklin and have been sponsoring the Mackay Meteor and Meteorettes to show our support for local athletes. In 2008 we had a Nissan Micra up for grabs in the "half time shoot" out where the audience can shoot for cash or the car and in 2009 we held the sponsors introduction evening at the Nissan Dealership. Part of this sponsorhip is also to support Mackay Basketballs initiatives with local schools in Mackay the surrounding rural areas. Northern Beaches Primary Schools Track and Field Carnival
2009 marked the 20th year that North Jacklin has sponsored this carnival, held every year at the Cathy Freeman Oval in Slade Point, North Mackay. Pictured below - our dealer principal John Nash with Emmanuel Primary School Students. Read more
Art on Show Awards- Mackay Showgrounds
To support budding local artists, in 2008 and 2009 we have sponsored the local "Art on Show" awards that are held during Show week. Pictured below - Dealer Principal John Nash presenting the "Works on Paper" awards to Tony Druery and Mary Brown.
Northern Beaches Bowls Club
North Jacklin sponsors many bowls clubs around Mackay, not just Northern Beaches! But we do have a great photo of some of our admin girls at this clubs bowls day for sponsors so we thought this shot was worth putting up!
Gum Valley Desert Racing Team
Keenan Jansen, Regan Jansen, Matt Dumigan, Brad Luff, Col Mackenzie and Jason Woodley set their sites high when they entered the notorious Finke Dirt Biking Race that starts at Alice Springs and heads South along the old Ghan Railway track to the town of Finke. Read more
"The Finke trip was a big ask for even the biggest of motor-homes. It's 6000kms there and back from Mackay to Alice Springs and Finke with terrain varying from flat open highway to sandy and corrugated dirt tracks. The Jayco Basestations were fully loaded to nearly 4 Tonne with bikes and equipment and the Navara's towed them with ease. We were also living in the desert in style with the Basestations providing all the mod cons you'd usually expect from a five star motel. It was great!" Keenan Jansen, GVDRT |
