It was a hot day in November when a convoy of 20 vehicles drove to Rowallan Park for North Jacklin's 4 Wheel Drive day.

Family and friends piled out of their vehicles and headed to the shade to meet the instructors who would steer them through the introductory course which is not offered anywhere else in Mackay.
There were groups of varied skill level - some had braved teh bush before and others had only the dust from local road works on their tyres. There were kids and grandparents, couples and friends, all eager to kick up some dirt in their 4WD and have some fun doing so!

"Our 4 Wheel Drive Days are about giving our customers something extra when they purchase from us - it's our way of saying 'thanks' for choosing North Jacklin as their dealer". John Nash, Dealer Principal.

Off road driving is a popular pass time of Northern Queenslanders, with our region offering a multitude of tracks to explore.
Many drivers travel off road thinking that their sealed road driving skills will translate to rougher terrain and some learn the hard way that this is not the case!
To give drivers the opportunity to learn the essential "do's and don't's", North Jacklin has constructed a course that allows drivers to practise techniques in their own vehicle under the guidance of professional 4WD instructors.
" We want to ensure drivers are confident in operating their vehicle by giving them the tools to use it in the environment it's built for" John Nash, Dealer Principal.

At the end of the day every driver had learnt how to complete a stall recovery, master left foot braking, climb & descend undulated hills and the theory behind the dreaded snatch stray recovery (to name a few).
"What a great day out, with interesting and relevant topics and knowledgeable trainers" Jordan Ford, Customer.
